We are seeking a highly skilled System Architect to work in Washington DC.
Job Summary:
Responsible for Performs standard engineering development, design, and analysis of IT such as logic design, circuit design, firmware development, model formulation, cost projection, computer architecture analysis and design, network structure design, and systems engineering. Projects may include fabrication, modification, and evaluation of components or circuitry for use in electronic equipment. May be assigned to interact with client engineers, respond to technical questions and requests from customers, and implement systems at customer sites. Knowledge
of hardware/systems/software requirements analysis/definition. Fluent in use of automated tools, engineering disciplines and approaches.
Design to-be-architecture of network topology road map to include but not limited to existing and future requirements, propose and implement new solutions, oversee the installation of networking hardware in addition to maintaining, supervising and troubleshooting the existing network. Maintains inventory of network equipment, IP addresses, service locations, maintenance agreements, and leased lines. Expeditiously troubleshoot, identify, and rectify network problems, design flaws, and outages while maintaining the security posture of the network. Monitor network and let leadership know about any emerging requirements or necessary updates. Make long-term strategic recommendations to improve the overall health of the NS3 network and support business objectives. Ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.
Ensures optimal design, operation, interoperability and performance of network related hardware and software. Adheres to problem resolution and escalation procedures, documenting, and responding to all related system problems and resolving them on a timely basis. Notifies manager of problem areas and develops backup strategy and emergency plans. Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery architectural plans.
Draft, maintain, and update as required all network drawings and design documentation. Perform a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support for Cisco, Pal Alto, and other hardware equipment. Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure. Assist in the configuration and deployment/operations of core network devices not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, Servers, Intrusion Detection and Protective Devices, TACLANES, etc. Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes. Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery architectural plans. Setup proactive monitoring of all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA's and train team members.
Maintain up- to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies. Work closely with the fellow tech team members to provide end-user support and issue resolution, Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes
Keeps abreast of industry trends and changes in network software and hardware technologies to improve current service levels. Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all IT infrastructures. Recommends best technical options that are tested and proven to meet current and projected demands.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Report - The Architect shall provide a report of the status of all administered devices which will include (but not be limited to) all patches, updates, upgrades, configuration changes, backups, and announced security vulnerabilities. Report template to be created in collaboration between the contractor, the System Owner and ISSO of the administered assets.
- Outage/Impact Report - The Architect shall provide a report of all outages of administered devices which prevent personnel from performing required tasks and activities. The contents of the report will be determined in collaboration between the contractor, the System Owner, and the ISSO.
- Mitigation/Remediation Recommendations - The Architect shall provide an email providing recommendations for the mitigation/remediation of any security vulnerabilities impacting administered devices. The Architect shall also provide input into recommendations for the mitigation/remediation of any security vulnerabilities impacting other assets deployed within the network.
- Other Reports & Documentation - The Architect will provide any other report, documentation, or materials related to this Task using templates agreed to by the government team lead and within timeframes agreed to by the government team lead.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science, degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical
- 10 years of related experience
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Active Top Secret with eligibility to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility Clearance
