Work within a team of engineers to design, develop and deliver mechanical and electro-mechanical components, structures, and tools to support the overall products delivered for the US Government. Ensure all designs meet required specifications and meet all hazard and safety standards. Perform required analysis (tolerance, stress, thermal, etc.) on the mechanical designs, and adjust design(s) as necessary. Create 2D and 3D drawings required for the group, using appropriate software. Possess the ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Work with Engineering Group to test, qualify, install, and deliver equipment for the US Government.

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
  • Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew
  • Performs work under minimal supervision
  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, to include design, fabrication, and delivery of required designs
  • 3+ years of experience working with various CAD software, to include but not limited to: Autocad and Solidworks
  • Experience with network and electrical diagrams
  • Experience using Visio for block and interconnect diagrams
  • Mathematical and analytical skills essential to incorporate concepts into mechanical designs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Able to obtain a Secret Clearance award
