Overview
The Project Control Analyst will support the I&O Network Management branch by overseeing and managing project scheduling, planning, and resource allocation for various network infrastructure initiatives. This role will involve handling critical path and dependency analysis, baseline management, and status monitoring for projects related to LANs, WANs, wireless infrastructure, and integrations with FAA Cloud Services, Colocation facilities, and the FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS). The Project Control Analyst will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with FAA standards and goals.
Responsibilities
• Project Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring the timely completion of tasks related to network infrastructure projects, including hardware upgrades, wireless services maintenance, and VoIP infrastructure support.
• Critical Path & Dependency Analysis: Analyze project tasks to identify critical paths and dependencies, managing risks and ensuring that project deadlines are met efficiently.
• Resource Allocation & Baseline Management: Allocate resources effectively and manage project baselines to ensure proper execution of network-related projects such as equipment installation, network upgrades, and cabling.
• Status Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project progress, provide regular updates, and maintain detailed status reports. Identify potential delays or issues and recommend corrective actions to ensure projects remain on track.
• Risk & Constraint Analysis: Analyze project risks and constraints and provide mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.
• Network Solution Design & Implementation Support: Support the planning, designing, and implementing of network solutions, including site surveys, modifications, and network cabling work, ensuring all tasks adhere to FAA network standards.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure coordination across network projects, such as switch/router replacements, security patches, and IPv6 upgrades.
This role requires an experienced Project Control Analyst with a background in managing complex network-related projects, ensuring that all elements are delivered on time and within budget while adhering to FAA standards and policies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two (2) years relevant experience. Experience must be relevant to project control. The experience must be similar or identical to the following: project schedule, project plan, critical path and dependency analysis, resource allocation, baseline management, status monitoring, and related project management activities.
• FAA experience highly preferred.
• Proven experience in project control, scheduling, and planning within a network management or IT infrastructure environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, including scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Experience with critical path analysis, resource allocation, baseline management, and monitoring project performance.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, including LANs, WANs, wireless systems, and VoIP infrastructure, is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
