Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior-Level Financial Operations Specialist to support organizational effectiveness and financial efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to optimizing business processes, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and driving operational improvements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating organizational structures, designing and improving systems and procedures, and ensuring the company's financial and business functions align with strategic goals.

Skills / Experience Required

Key Responsibilities and experience needed for the Financial Operations Specialist:

* Current Active Secret clearance
* Minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a Business/Financial Operations Specialist
* Conduct comprehensive organizational studies and evaluations to enhance operational efficiency
* Develop and implement business processes, policies, and procedures that streamline workflows and improve productivity
* Lead work simplification and measurement studies to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions
* Prepare detailed operations and procedures manuals to guide management in optimizing business functions
* Perform financial analysis, budget forecasting, and variance assessments to support strategic decision-making
* Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to assess business needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Support program analysis and management consulting efforts to enhance business operations
* Evaluate financial and operational risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
* Utilize data analysis tools and business intelligence platforms to generate reports and provide actionable insights
* Monitor and assess regulatory changes that may impact business and financial operation
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business challenges and develop strategic solutions
* Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior management
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across departments

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in government contracting or federal programs
* Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and financial management tools
* Certification in project management (PMP), business process improvement, or financial analysis is a plus

Education / Certifications

* A master's degree (MA/MS) is required; however, a bachelor's degree plus 8 years' work experience may be substituted for a master's degree OR 12+ years of relevant work experience may be accepted in place of a master's degree
* Strong expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile
* Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
