System Administrator– Level 2 (PFSA2-000-031)

We are seeking a Technical Writer – Level 2 to develop clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for DoD programs and cryptologic projects. In this role, the candidate will research and synthesize highly technical information from multiple sources, including engineering documentation, technical drawings, and subject matter expert consultations, to produce materials that are accessible to a wide range of audiences.
The candidate will be responsible for creating defense acquisition documents, user manuals, training materials, and other technical documentation that support the development and deployment of DoD electronic equipment and systems. Additionally, they will interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures, and analytical tradecraft methodologies to generate comprehensive technical content.
This position requires strong technical writing skills, the ability to translate complex information into user-friendly formats, and familiarity with technical manual standards such as NSA DS-89. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring that technical documentation is accurate, compliant, and supports the operational needs of end-users.

Job Description:
Tasks Performed:

• Research highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
• Under general direction, write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
• Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources
• Produce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems
• Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information
• Produce technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies
• Apply technical manual standard NSA DS-89 to work products

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED with at least 15 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems with at least 10 years of relevant experience
• TS/SCI security clearance with active full scope polygraph
• Experience in the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
• Experience writing/editing technical documentation for hardware and software installation, configuration and how-to documentation
• Experience creating code documentation for software
• Experience producing implementation guides and end-user guides for applications and system capabilities
• Experience providing field documentation, data definition, and data flow documentation
• Experience administrating Confluence spaces and page templates
• MS Office suite, including SharePoint
• Word Templates
• Jira (for requirements and tasking)
• Confluence
