Job Description
The Information Security Specialist is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Project specific: uses current information security technology disciplines and practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information assets in accordance with established standards and procedures. Develops and maintains knowledgebase on changing regulatory, threat, and technology landscapes to continually develop or maintain security policies and standards and ensure compliance throughout the organization. Position Responsibilities:

• Development and implementation of Systems Security Plans (SSP), Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), information security policies, and required bodies of evidence, as necessary, to ensure compliance with RMF guidelines
• Ensuring the development and implementation of an effective information systems security education, training and awareness program (SETA)
• Overseeing compliance of security settings for operating systems including Windows, Linux, etc on all information systems within the accreditation boundary
• Ensuring proper measures are taken when information system incident or vulnerability is discovered
• Managing and executing the information security continuous monitoring program
• Ensuring configuration management policies and procedures for authorizing the use of hardware/software on an information system are followed and assess changes to the system, its environment, and operational needs that could affect the security authorization
• Manages classified equipment, materials, and information in accordance with DoD COMSEC policies
• Oversee accurate inventory, distribution, accountability, and destruction of COMSEC keys and related material; maintains COMSEC material and equipment
• Ensures the integrity of the COMSEC/TRANSEC program; maintains records and files, issues and recovers COMSEC equipment in accordance with established policies
• Maintaining required information security certifications (CISSP, SEC+, etc)

Qualifications
Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems Management, or related discipline required.
• Associate's degree with at least 7-yrs experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• 5-yrs of experience in developing and implementing Systems Security Plans (SSP), managing information system incidents and vulnerabilities, and overseeing compliance with security settings for operating systems.
• 5-yrs of experience in executing information security continuous monitoring programs and managing configuration management policies and procedures for hardware/software authorization.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with building and managing both ACAS and eMASS.
• CSWF IAM Level II or Level III or CISSP Certification.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification

Certifications (Preferred):

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
