Description
Job Title: Energy Analyst
Location: Fairfax, VA/Hybrid
The Energy Analyst provides subject matter expertise to Department of Defense (DoD) organizations on energy policy, resilience, and efficiency to support military operations and installations. Coordinates activities to address energy actions at Command level installation management organizations of the DoD. Analyzes energy consumption, develops energy security strategies, and ensures compliance with DoD energy policies and federal mandates. Assists the organization to determine current footprint needs and make recommendations on how to optimize energy requirements throughout the DoD enterprise.

Job Title: Energy Analyst

Assists the organization to determine current footprint needs and make recommendations on how to optimize energy requirements throughout the DoD enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis on DoD energy consumption trends, renewable energy integration, and efficiency measures.
- Develop and implement energy security and resilience strategies to support mission readiness.
- Assess the risks and vulnerabilities of DoD installations related to energy supply disruptions.
- Support energy policy development and compliance with federal and DoD energy directives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis of energy projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborate with military installations, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders to implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on energy-related matters for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory changes affecting DoD energy programs.
- Provide guidance concerning on-site energy audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and support energy conservation initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive congressional reports such as the Army's Annual Energy Performance Resilience, and Readiness Report (AEPRR), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
- Compare year-over-year energy and water consumption trends and assess the impact of renewable energy adoption.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required; specialization in energy policy, engineering, environmental science, public policy, or a related field is desired.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in energy data analysis and energy policy development is required, preferably within a DoD context.
- Knowledge of DoD energy policies, federal energy mandates, and military installation energy management is highly desired.
- Experience with energy modeling tools, data analysis, and risk assessment methodologies is required.
- Experience working with Army energy management systems such as AEWRS or MDMS and related datasets is highly desired.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification is desired.
- US citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance is required; active SECRET clearance is desired.
