Description
Technical expert who provides advanced-level support for system-related issues, particularly within complex IT environments. Responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, and optimizing system performance, and often deal with issues that are too intricate for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams. Duties include system design, configuration, and maintenance, with a focus on advanced problem-solving, system improvements, and ensuring that systems are running at optimal levels.

Technical Environment: Microsoft, Linux, Splunk, Ansible, Tenable, GEMS

Requirements
- Provide expert-level technical support to resolve complex system issues that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 or Tier 2 engineers.
- Analyze and diagnose system malfunctions, performance issues, and failures across all components of the IT infrastructure.
- Design and implement system solutions to meet business requirements, including hardware, software, and network configurations.
- Ensure systems are properly integrated with other business applications and infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance and ensure systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and security.
- Regularly apply patches, updates, and upgrades to software and hardware systems.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve network, server, and application issues.
- Collaborate with other technical teams for cross-functional troubleshooting.
- Continuously monitor system performance and uptime, utilizing diagnostic tools to identify areas of improvement.
- Proactively manage resources, capacity planning, and performance tuning for optimal efficiency.
- Document complex technical issues and their resolutions for future reference.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base on system issues, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure systems are secured and meet compliance standards through proper configurations, encryption, and the application of best practices.
- Implement system security protocols and respond to security incidents as necessary.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams to share insights, assist with escalations, and provide mentorship and training on advanced system issues.
- Work with other departments (network, security, and application teams) to improve system architecture and mitigate risk.
- Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions for critical systems.
- Ensure systems can be quickly restored in case of system failures.
- Regularly assess system performance, make recommendations for improvement, and implement changes to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
