Job Description
The selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs. Work will consist of performing depot level overhaul/refurbishment of AIMS MKXII/MKIIA Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment by inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices; repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand or power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests: installing basic equipment field changes; and performing other duties as assigned. Will remove and replace both through hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components.

Candidate will travel 10-20% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore based system installations and test events. Tasking will involve, but is not limited to, climbing aloft to perform antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects. Candidate will travel to ship location and complete assigned tasks which may require extended hours or weekends to support installations and test events. Will assist technicians of all skill levels, performing evaluation, testing, and integration of Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA, and related technical duties. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and on site Government customers.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $35.64/hr.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Relocation assistance is not available Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School diploma and 6 - 8 years of related experience
Ability to read and follow engineering drawing, change orders, work instructions, and test procedures
Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects
Radar and digital experience
Discrete component level troubleshooting, aligning and adjustment of electronic circuitry

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with Shipboard, Aircraft or Ground based IFF Systems
Navy NEC 1572 AIMS technician and/or NEC 1571 AN/UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer or other service equivalent
Computer troubleshooting and maintenance experience
Certified Solder Technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through hole
Certified Quality Assurance Inspector
Cable fabrication certification
Knowledge of ISO, Lean Six Sigma, and/or best practices
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime (OSHA 1915) training

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
