Description
SAIC is seeking a Director of Hypersonic Operations for the Naval Business Group to lead hypersonic strategy across the organization (Navy, Army, AirForce, MDA, and Space). Candidate will serve as a corporate expert in field and assist with top-level policy through support to OSD, SSP, and SAIC Congressional Affairs.
This requirement is based in Huntsville, AL but will also require travel to other SAIC and stakeholder sites.
Responsibilities include :
• Work with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives, and monitor implementation across the organization and SAIC hypersonic portfolio
• Provide Program performance and technical oversight
• Facilitate collaboration across organizations/key stakeholders internal and external to SAIC (including, services, government agencies, industry, academia)
• Interface with National Hypersonic Organizational Leadership to help solve various program problems
• Offer guidance/solutions for National Hypersonic requirements, including solutions architecture and test and transition strategy, with insights into future technology needs
• Support OSD R&E strategy and OSD-led hypersonic committees
• Provide mentorship and guidance for CPS, Mach-TB, JHTO, ICAM, Iron Dome and other critical programs spanning acquisition, technology road mapping and modernization, workforce development, test, and transition
• Guide engineering/technical approach that facilitates rapid, adaptable, modular upgrades to hypersonic programs of record
• Shape policy that empowers programs to remove barriers to modular upgrades and technology transition; enable cost-sharing technology development initiatives that would reduce the lifecycles sustainment costs of the programs
• Provide recommendations for robust aeronautical engineering principles and process, systems engineering approach, and capability development, as well as quality control measures
• Develop integrated business strategy for hypersonics consistent with the overall SAIC business strategy
• Drive solution development and sales for hypersonics
• Help communicate market segment offerings and advise on how we go to market with customer groups and potential customers
• Support IR&D and B&P investment
• Support Business development and capture activities
• Provide pipeline development for top-line growth aligned with Enterprise strategic plans
• Conduct business and technical briefings for top management and external representatives
• Participate in technology conference panels and speaker engagements
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
• Engineering Degree. Bachelor's and 30+ years' experience
Other Requirements:
• A minimum of 15+ years' experience managing one or more program(s) of high complexity providing products, services, and customer support for nuclear/hypersonic weapons and advanced hypersonic technologies
• Mission Director/Development Test Lead experience for Hypersonics and Advanced Capabilities
• Experience aligning commercial innovation with DoD needs
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in program management, business management, engineering and business development
• TS /SCI Clearance
Successful candidate must also possess:
• Demonstrated success in leading a complex program portfolio with market expansion and the communicative ability to engage new customers and present technical solutions to complex problems
• Interdisciplinary leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and mentoring senior-level staff in a successful organization
• Ability to gain internal consensus support; operate independently without supervision or feedback; conceive new and innovative ideas and solutions; predict potential outcomes, and determine which alternative course of action to follow
• Ability to establish positive, constructive relationships with technical and functional staff, managers, and peers within the Operation, Naval Business Group, and across SAIC organizations
• Experience in identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements and working with other team members to develop a total integrated business solution
• In depth experience with the operational requirements of customer base
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential and should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
• Established/proven working relationships across the National Hypersonic community - to include an understanding of capabilities, key players and decision makers and likely strategies within that market
