Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal System Security Engineer (SSE) to support the United States Air Force's acquisition of the Sentinel weapon system, the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
The System Security Engineer will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing program efforts to achieve appropriate security and survivability of systems over their entire life cycle. The position requires expertise in applying the principles and practices outlined in NIST SP 800-160 and/or ISO/IEC 21827:2008

Primary Duties
- Manage the implementation of security measures to ensure compliance with program activities and plans (i.e., Security Classification Guide, Supply Chain Risk Management Plan (SCRM), Anti-Tamper Plan) as identified in the Statement of Work.
- Apply security engineering principles and practices from NIST SP 800-160 and/or ISO/IEC 21827:2008 to guide program efforts.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to inform security planning and mitigation strategies.
- Perform continuous assessment of systems as they are delivered to ensure ongoing security compliance and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address security issues and integrate security best practices into all phases of the program.
- Document and report on security activities, findings, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or Engineering with 5+ years; or a master's degree 3+ years of experience.
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- Knowledge of DoD, Air Force policies, and processes.
- Solid understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.
