Information Technology Intern

About the Opportunity:
NexTech Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Information Technology (IT) Intern to join our team for the summer of 2025. This full-time internship will provide hands-on experience and exposure to a range of IT responsibilities, including system monitoring, documentation, technical support, and process optimization. The successful candidate will work closely with IT professionals to gain practical experience and contribute to a variety of exciting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Daily Checks of systems and document the findings.
• Refine and document the process of Daily Checks. Offer suggestions of improvement and incorporate automation into the process.
• Refine the Message Metrics Tracking application and reporting process.
• Generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine technical tasks.
• Assist with the organization and inventory of spare IT assets.
• Generation of technical documentation as required.
• Analyze and repair the Data Center power management application/system that monitors all UPS and PDU devices in the data center. Document the process in a SOP.
• Provide assistance to the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) as needed.
• Other IT tasks as required.

Intern Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in and completed a minimum of 2-years of college/technical school studying Computer Science, Information Technology or Cybersecurity
• Familiarity and understanding of the seven layers of the OSI Model, software design and development methodologies, virtual machines and network cabling
• Basic programming skills in any of the following: Python, JAVA, C++, Perl
• Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Visio
