Quevera is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to install, configure, test, and administer large clustered systems utilizing cloud technologies such as COPILOT, ACCUMULO, PIG/PIGLET, SPARK, and Hadoop. In this role you will work on integrating and developing solutions for encryption/decryption services and managing Big Data in a cloud environment. Your expertise in technologies like Hadoop, MapReduce, and NoSQL (HBase, Accumulo) will be key to optimizing distributed systems. This role requires a TS/SCI FSP and resides in Ft. Meade MD.

What you will do:

Administer and sustain operating systems and software for large cloud-based systems.

Develop, integrate, and test software to provide encryption/decryption services within a cloud environment.

Work with Hadoop (HDFS, MapReduce), Pig, and Hive to process and manage large datasets.

Integrate cloud components with IC GovCloud services, ensuring high availability and scalability.

Work with NoSQL technologies such as HBase and Accumulo to support Big Data storage and processing.

Design and develop Object-Oriented systems, focusing on performance and scalability.

What you bring:

6+ years of experience with Java programming language.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4+ years of equivalent experience).

Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and MapReduce programming.

Strong experience in developing solutions with NoSQL databases (HBase, Accumulo, MongoDB).

Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment and understanding cloud scalability.

Expertise in data serialization formats like JSON and BSON.

Hadoop Cloud Certification and experience with Apache Nifi. (preferred)

Experience in developing and deploying automated analytics and data-driven software solutions. (preferred)
