The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

What You Will Do:
- Leading and managing a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section.
- Experience in leadership and managerial duties for team members, including but not limited to Resource management, Talent interviewing and training, helps onboard new hire, mentorship.
- Supervise administrators whose duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Developing and monitoring policies, standards, processes, and goals for direct reports
- Coordinating system administrative support for training development/evaluations and operations and sustainment plans
- Participating in Change Request reviews, to include participating in Change Management boards at multiple program levels.
- Coordinating technical and process document reviews and resolving system administration, engineering, and integration issues
- Participating and leading technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, and representing the organization in functional area matters.
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
- Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate. Up to at 10% per year.
- Full time 100% Onsite position.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with some but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, AWS, MySQL, Remote Desktop Gateway, and Netwrix, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, Windows administration experience, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
- Experience with installing, configuring and supporting various engineering tools such as GreenHills, Matlab, Coverity, etc
- Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
- Experience in the following areas: patch management, OS Upgrades, computer security, system monitoring and logging and Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems.
- Experience working with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF and handling classified information.
- Experience in the following areas: High Performance Computing,
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
