Are you passionate about designing and verifying advanced hardware solutions for avionics systems? We are looking for a driven Design Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge hardware that not only meets rigorous DO-254 standards but also aligns with DO-178C software requirements. In this role, you’ll create, implement, and document hardware verification plans and certification artifacts to ensure full compliance with FAA/EASA/DOD regulations.

Responsibilities
Hardware Verification Planning
Develop and document Hardware Verification Plans (HVP) and related compliance artifacts, ensuring alignment with DO-254 standards at various Design Assurance Levels (DAL A–E).

Certification Documentation
Create detailed certification documentation and maintain adherence to FAA/EASA/DOD certification processes for avionics hardware.

Hardware-Software Integration
Collaborate closely with software teams to integrate DO-178C software requirements into the hardware design process.

PCB Design & Layout
Design schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer, ensuring robust and efficient designs.

Communication Protocols
Implement and test communication protocols (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, TSN) as well as embedded standards (PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART).

Verification & Validation
Ensure compliance with DO-254 verification and validation processes and conduct environmental testing in accordance with RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.

Required Qualifications
DO-254 Expertise
Demonstrated experience with DO-254 compliance and development across DAL A–E levels.

Hardware-Software Integration Knowledge
Thorough understanding of DO-178C requirements and how they relate to hardware design and verification.

Certification Experience
Proven track record in developing HVPs, compliance artifacts, and certification documentation within FAA/EASA/DOD regulatory frameworks.

Technical Proficiency
Familiarity with processor architectures (ARM, PowerPC, x86) and strong skills in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.

Communication Protocol Mastery
In-depth knowledge of avionics communication protocols (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, TSN) and embedded standards (PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART).

Environmental Testing
Experience applying DO-254-compliant verification and validation processes, including environmental testing to RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards.

Desired Qualifications
Previous experience leading cross-functional engineering teams or managing complex avionics projects.
Advanced certifications or coursework in hardware verification, avionics design, or related fields.
Familiarity with emerging technologies in avionics systems and electronics manufacturing.
