FJM Innovative Technologies, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong background in networking and cybersecurity to support mission-critical operations in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in IP networking, cyber operations, cloud security, and system hardening, with the ability to analyze and communicate technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
• Implement and maintain IP networking protocols, security policies, and secure transport practices.
• Utilize network analysis tools such as Nmap and Wireshark to assess security and performance.
• Deploy and manage network security technologies including firewalls, proxies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and AV solutions.
• Support cyber operations and cybersecurity initiatives, leveraging both defensive methodologies and offensive operational security best practices.
• Work with covert communications technologies and mis-attributable internet system designs.
• Ensure security and compliance within cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Manage Windows, MacOS, Linux, and mobile OS environments, ensuring system hardening and security best practices.
• Conduct research and analysis to synthesize large amounts of data, identify risks, and develop actionable security recommendations.
• Prepare technical risk assessments and reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Expertise in IP networking, network security, and secure transport practices.
• Proficiency in network analysis tools such as Nmap and Wireshark.
• Experience with firewalls, proxies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other cybersecurity technologies.
• Knowledge of cyber operations, defensive methodologies, and operational security.
• Familiarity with cloud security in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
• Understanding of operating systems and secure system architecture.
• Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
