Required Qualifications:
• BS/MS degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline
• Minimum of 15 years’ functional area experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities:
•Assist in converting user requirements into detailed weapons system specifications, supporting the design, development, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of weapons systems, subsystems, and equipment for eventual deployment.

•Contribute to the creation of action plans and policies for enhancing and maintaining world-class manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and de-militarization/disposal of weapons system capabilities within the USAF.

•Support technical and mission analysis of current and future operational needs, assist in the development of system concepts, and conduct technological trade-off assessments for proposed designs or modifications.

•Provide rapid-response engineering support, aiding in problem identification, impact assessment, and corrective action development for critical supportability challenges.

•Assist in the execution of the system safety engineering program, including performing risk assessments, reviewing contractor safety proposals, evaluating safety concerns, and addressing high-priority safety issues.

•Contribute to material solution analyses in preparation for design reviews and assist in creating or supporting the development of documentation and presentation materials based on programmatic constraints such as cost, schedule, and performance.

•Aid in translating user requirements into system specifications for the design, development, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of systems, subsystems, and equipment.

•Support the production or review of various technical documents

•Assist in ensuring compliance with technical requirements for avionics development, testing, sustainment, and operations, particularly related to navigation, voice communication, Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) data link systems, communication networks, network protocols, and Information Protection Security (IPSec). This includes expertise in Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Extensible Markup Language (XML) packaging, air data systems, and airworthiness standards.

•Help evaluate technical documents, assess their adequacy in demonstrating compliance with specifications and airworthiness standards, summarize findings, recommend changes, and communicate the results to the program office.
