MINIMUM MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
1) Have a completed Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other Physical Science with demonstrated academic software focus

2) Have 3-7 years of post-graduation professional applied experience described on resume developing software in Javascript/Typescript, Java, C++ and/or python using an Agile methodology

- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Experience with React and Angular framework
- Experience with tools such as Gradle, Podman, and Docker

DESCRIPTION
DAS is currently seeking mid-level software engineers to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software development on projects supporting various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. Projects will entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of training simulation systems. This position offers the opportunities for supporting full-stack software development on leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems. Efforts include all phases of the software development life-cycle conducted via an Agile Kanban software development process. Our current focused hiring need is for those with capabilities and experience in React and Angular, but our systems make use of multiple languages including Javascript/Typescript, C++, Java, Scala, Rust, Go, and Python, as well as tools including Gradle, Podman, and Docker.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze technology/capability gaps; research, develop, and deploy software solutions within our Agile Kanban software development process
- Work with project leads to define sprints and associated deliverables
- Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code
- Conduct integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities
- Assist in the creation of technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software
SALARY NOTES
The salary range posted covers all levels of experience and capability for software engineers and is not specific to this posted position. The salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's breadth of capability and level of experience.
JOB LOCATION
***Remote work (including hybrid) is not possible due to the secret nature of these projects.***
- Successful candidates will primarily work at our McLean, VA facility
- There may be occasions when employees will temporarily work at our customer site in Carderock, MD.
