ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Acoustics Software Developer to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This is an on-site position with potential for hybrid or remote work, depending on project requirements.
In this role, you will support the U.S. Navy's efforts in designing, developing, and maintaining Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Acquisition Systems. You will apply advanced software engineering practices to build systems that directly support critical military testing. As part of a dynamic team, you'll contribute to complex, mission-critical projects.

In this role, you will support the U.S. Navy's efforts in designing, developing, and maintaining Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Acquisition Systems. You will apply advanced software engineering practices to build systems that directly support critical military testing. As part of a dynamic team, you'll contribute to complex, mission-critical projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement advanced software solutions for DSP and acquisition systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Design and optimize DSP algorithms for signal processing, including filtering, modulation/demodulation, frequency analysis, and noise reduction for various military applications.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware teams to integrate software with acquisition hardware and sensors, ensuring seamless operation.
- Utilize a range of debugging tools to identify and resolve issues across software, hardware, and networking systems. Perform rigorous testing to ensure system performance meets stringent military requirements.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for design, development, and testing processes. Ensure software solutions adhere to US Navy standards and specifications.
- Engage with cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, and operations) to deliver solutions on time and in accordance with project specifications.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new DSP technologies, and development methodologies. Identify opportunities for improvements in both software architecture and algorithms.
- Ensure software development processes adhere to security policies, coding standards, and other regulatory guidelines specific to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) projects.
- Must be able to travel within the local area and within the United States for operational tasks (Up to 25%).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on DSP and acquisition systems
- 10+ years of experience with Signature Characterization and Reduction of U.S. Military assets
- 5+ years of experience deploying, managing, and optimizing applications in High-Performance Computing environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Familiarity with simulation tools for DSP (e.g., Matlab, LabVIEW)
- Knowledge of software version control tools (e.g., Git, Subversion)
- Experience with cybersecurity protocols and securing software in military systems.
- Advanced understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts, algorithms, and related signal processing tools and libraries.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and multi-threaded programming.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining real-time DSP and acquisition systems using programming languages such as C#, Python, and MATLAB.
- Experience in military or defense systems development, with a strong understanding of DoD standards.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an Active Top Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to remain stationary for up to 50% of the time while working at a computer or other office equipment.
- Ability to move around the office to access files and office machinery and attend meetings with colleagues, management, and clients.
- Occasional movement around the facility to collaborate with teams and participate in discussions.
