BAE Systems is in need of a Senior Network Engineer. Primary duties include configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting very complex enterprise IT networks. Participating in the daily activities of configuration management and operational needs of customer IT networked systems. Providing quality assurance and operational reporting requirements. Assisting government users/maintainers/administrators in system problem diagnosis and troubleshooting, collection of problem information, and recommendations leading to a resolution.
Our team develops, configures and tests new technology, enhancing current systems, and pioneers technology for new systems.
This position is located in Washington DC. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least 12 years of related experience
Current SSBI adjudicated within the past three years (must be able to pass additional screenings)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Security + certification in accordance with DOD 8570 instruction
Capable of systems analysis with highly complex technologies
Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipment
Experience with Wide Area Networks
Experience with Local Area Networks
Cisco Routing and switching experience
IP network experience
Broadcast over IP and Voice over IP experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Network + certifications in accordance with DOD 8570 instruction
Microsoft certification - MCSA, MCP, MCS
Familiarity with patch panels
Knowledge of telecommunications fundamentals
Ability to be self-reliant
Capability to perform essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to professionally interact with high level military officers and civilian officials on a daily basis
Quality assurance experience with both new and upgraded telecommunications systems
Trainer / training experience
Positive service oriented attitude
Military experience / knowledge of customs and courtesies
Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures with regard to the installation, configuration, and management of Cisco IP Systems
Experience with the development and presentation of briefings
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
