Manufacturing Engineer II

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its organization to support production in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Resolve manufacturing related issues on the ACV Weld Line.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process engineering.
• Interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
• Applies basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems.
• Selects the best method or process from among several existing alternatives.
• Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
• Delivers technical presentations.
• Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
• Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
• Provides input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Applies basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes.
• Interacts with employees located at multiple facilities across the country

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience in welding/auto mechanics OR equivalent education/experience
• Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees
• Mechanical or manufacturing background experience
• Understanding of root cause/corrective action- preventive action
• Experience with industrial paint coatings
• Understanding of welding practices
• Lean manufacturing experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with spray paint processes of military or commercial vehicles and equipment
• SSPC (The Society for Protective Coatings) certification
• Corrosion/corrosion mitigation training or experience
• Commercial blast room equipment and bead blasting of military or commercial vehicles experience
• Gage and equipment calibration and control ISO 9001-2008 knowledge

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70735 - $120250

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
