Program Overview

Peraton provides the customer with enterprise infrastructure support to plan, engineer, implement, enhance, maintain and operate the global consular affairs IT environment.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a local Systems Administrator (SA) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) program. The CAEIO Program provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.

A critical element of the CAEIO program is providing IT Operations and Maintenance support for the hardware and software (HW/SW) platforms on which CA IT systems reside and operate. The SA provides on-site support to Peraton and government team members at the Peraton office in Sterling, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, install, monitor, and maintain hardware and software.
    • Coordinate and plan upgrades, monitor post upgrade deployment for errors, replace HW/SW components as needed, and prepare for consolidating and decommissioning/retiring HW/SW.
    • Monitor and document abnormal performance of server, workstation, and services trends. Document and maintain site topology configuration and changes.
    • Provide server/workstation security services, including remediation of vulnerabilities and ensure Microsoft Defender compliance on all required devices.
    • Resolve hard drive, server, laptop, desktop computer, card reader, printer, and other hardware issues.
  • Serve as the primary facility point-of-contact, responsible for badge/access management, facility operations (interacting with corporate Facilities), and shipment receipt.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues between site and Peraton and between site and DOS networks.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts, user privileges, and passwords.
  • Manage PKI cards.
  • Provide end user software and Office application support.
  • Create, maintain, track, and communicate configurations and/or changes of configurations in HW, SW, data, permissions (or security-related information), etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate diagrams, system configurations, and technical documentation.
  • Manage Peraton and DOS asset inventory, distribution, recovery, and disposition.
  • Work with the government ISSO to ensure that security and internal controls are handled in accordance with DOS policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Service Center team to plan, coordinate, and set up lab training environment.
  • Work with Peraton's Facility Security Officer to manage facility security changes and inspections.
Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship and active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience as a systems administrator in a Windows-based environment.

Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NTFS and share permissions; distribution/security group management
  • Knowledge of DHCP, Print Server and Exchange/O365 management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cisco switching and routing technologies
  • Experience with ServiceNow or Remedy Ticket Management System
  • Experience with Active Directory - Users and Computers
  • Experience with PKI management
  • Experience with Windows/Linux server administration to include build, patching, and troubleshooting
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ Certifications
  • Experience in a similar role supporting the Department of State

Education and Years of Experience: High school diploma (or equivalent) and 9 years of experience; Associate degree and 7 years of experience; Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience; Master's degree and 3 years of experience.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
