Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant

Cherokee Accelerated Solutions (CAS) is seeking an Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant to support the Human Capital Office's (HCO) employee relations and benefits responsibilities. The Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant will work on a part-time basis to help with administrative duties to support GAO's Human Capital Office (HCO) practices and policies.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant: $25-$30 per hour

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant Responsibilities Include:
  • Monitor e-mail inboxes
  • Create, update, and maintain logs and databases
  • Create and maintain files
  • Generate and distribute reports
  • Conduct HCO internal audits
  • Serve as note taker during proceedings for administrative grievances
  • Schedule and arrange other employee relations, benefits management, and reasonable accommodation meetings
  • Format written documents and exhibits in final form and transmit them in a secure manner using GAO's document management system and web-based tools
  • Conduct research
  • Index case documents constituting of evidence files for conduct, performance, suitability and other activities and actions
  • Verify the completion of required forms
  • Initiate personnel actions
  • Handle multiple concurrent tasks frequently with the adjustment of work priorities and deadlines for activities and deliverables as determined by the Government
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Employee Relations and Benefits Assistant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience with substantial knowledge of and experience in applied legal research
  • Highly skilled in managing the tracking incoming actions and associated administrative requirements as described above
  • Be able to develop a strong proficiency using GAO and third-party online systems and procedures to track data, respond to messages, produce, and distribute reports, monitor e-mail boxes, and respond to inquiries
  • Proficient in developing written documents and exhibits in final form using a document management system and web-based tools and personnel-oriented databases
  • Ability to provide operational support to employee relations and benefits management program by organizing and maintaining electronic and hard copy files and records
  • Proficient in handling multiple concurrent tasks and adjust to shifting work priorities and deadlines for activities and deliverables
  • Demonstrate outstanding level of professionalism
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
  • Sound business ethics including the protection of highly proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff
  • Superior Interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and cooperative attitude
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
