Job Listing: Configuration Manager Level 1
Position Summary:
Chesapeake Consultants is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Configuration Manager Level 1 with experience in JIRA and Confluence, as well as cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Configuration Management (CM) for both developmental and operational systems, and be capable of handling the full lifecycle of system configurations. This role is integral to supporting developmental and operational teams in creating, maintaining, and controlling configuration baselines across different environments (development, test, production, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to create and maintain configuration baselines.
Support the use of CM tools (such as DOORS, Eclipse, JIRA, and Confluence) to track and manage configuration items.
Help define, develop, and maintain CM plans, policies, and procedures.
Implement and enforce CM discipline throughout the lifecycle of systems, from initial requirements to end-of-life.
Assist in defining and executing hardware and software configuration management processes, including creating product build scripts and integrating them into the build process.
Support the tracking, documentation, and auditing of changes related to hardware and software configurations.
Ensure configuration items are properly stored, tracked, and managed using CM tools.
Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Configuration Manager (CM) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Associate’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Two (2) years of additional CM experience may be substituted for an associate’s degree.
Experience with JIRA and Confluence is essential.
Knowledge of cloud services is required.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (such as DOORS, Eclipse) is a plus.
Strong understanding of hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
Ability to collaborate with teams to define and implement configuration management strategies.
