Job Description:
IMPORTANT: This role will require domestic travel 1-2 weeks at a time. The remainder of the work will be remote. About 30% will be travel related.
Seeking an experienced VMware VCF Engineer to design, implement, and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). The ideal candidate will have expertise in software-defined data centers (SDDC), disaster recovery planning, and VMware automation tools. This role requires hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining VCF environments while ensuring business continuity through effective disaster recovery solutions with SRM.
Responsibilities:
VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):
Design, deploy, and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
Configure and optimize vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite within SDDC.
Implement lifecycle management, upgrades, and patches using VMware SDDC Manager.
Automate deployment and management tasks using PowerCLI, vRealize Automation, Terraform, or Ansible.
Troubleshoot performance and operational issues within the VCF stack.
Ensure security best practices and compliance across virtualized environments.
Skill Matrix:
Hands-on experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and vRealize Suite. - Required
Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and SDDC. - Required
Strong understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and storage (SDS) concepts. - Required
Expertise in disaster recovery planning, SRM, and replication technologies. - Required
Proficiency with automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, vRA). - Required
VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, VCF-related, or SRM-related) preferred. - Strong plus to have
Experience with cloud integration (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
