Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as Senior Principal Military Trainer. The location of this position is at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The Sr. Principal Military Trainer will collect and manage data pertaining to military warfighting function (WfF) (movement and maneuver, intelligence, fires, sustainment, mission command, and protection) procedures, decisions, and orders during computer assisted military training exercises for Army Brigades, Divisions, Corps, Army Service Component Command (ASCC), Joint Task Force (JTF) and Joint Force Land Component Command (JFLCC). Works closely with military WfF Chiefs and Senior Control during a Warfighter exercise (WFX). Assists in pre-exercise planning by participating in both Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and Army Exercise Life Cycle (ELC) events, providing experienced and relevant input. Assist in the development of exercise plans, coordinates internal and external resources, and prepares contract deliverables items. Maintains proficiency in the various simulations and models supporting Army training exercises. Maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging Army doctrine for Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps. Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process. This is done thru an integrated simulation to replicate a robust Operating Environment (OE). Units conduct exercises in Large Scale Combat Operations with all appropriate operational variables that would be present in a theater of operations to develop efficiency in the operations process.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Duty and Responsibilities:
- Trains military personnel on the Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and Maneuver WfF specific simulation processes and procedures.
- Provide simulation status and functional recommendations to the MCTP Simulation Specialists and MCTP leadership.
- During Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) monitor the simulation(s), assisting in first level troubleshooting and analysis, escalation of issues to the CIO and Sim Specs for forwarding to the NSC and developer on-call responders
- Assist Work cell Instructor/Controller (WIC) training.
- Research and analyze simulation behaviors and issues discovered during use and recommend solutions to the CIO/Simulation Specialists, MCTP leadership, and simulation operators. Notify and inform the CIO/SIM SPECs of anomalous behaviors and model issues. Write the appropriate Problem Trouble Report (PTR) and submit them to the National Simulation center (NSC) for forwarding to the developer.
- Assist with resolving conflicts or discrepancies between simulation output, training audience expectations, and Army Doctrine.
- Serves as a WfF SME for the development of the simulation Rules and Workarounds book.
- Support new model concept development as directed by MCTP and represent MCTP at user and modeling conferences.
- Training and certification of Senior Control personnel.
- Provide War Fighter Exercise (WFX) expertise, analysis, development, and delivery in areas of functionality, training, and parameters.
- Provide Quality Control to Work cell Instructor-Controller (WIC) training and mentoring to WICs and Senior Control personnel in training and during exercises.
- Assist with Problem Trouble Report (PTR) management.
- Attend weekly Exercise Working Group and Planning Team meetings for respective exercises to facilitate common understanding.
Basic Qualifications:
- One of the following
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 Years experience
- Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience
- Field Officer (04 or higher), Warrant Officer 4/5, or SGM (E9)
- Minimum Military Education Level (MEL) 4 CGSC/WOILE/SGM Academy or Equivalent
- Proficient in current U.S. Army military decision making and synchronization processes
- Proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
- Familiarity with current Army and Joint Doctrine
- Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
- Ability to travel worldwide as needed (up to 25% of the time and perform duty for up to twelve hours for shifts during the WFX or other exercises
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in the Army CTC program, preferably MCTP
- Master's Degree with 6 years of experience
- Mastery of current Army and Joint doctrine
- Must possess active DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience as a Work cell Instructor/Controller and Senior Controller
