JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Staff Accountant/HR Generalist

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant/HR Generalist to join our team and support the accounting and payroll functions of HR. The ideal candidate will support account payables, receivables, and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate must have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. They should also be experienced in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Xero. Expertise in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and MS Office, such as Excel and Word, is essential for the job.

Clearance Eligibility: Ability to pass a complete background check, including a credit check.

Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Functions:
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices.
  • Maintaining general ledger and reconciling bank statements.
  • Preparing monthly financial reports and statements.
  • Assisting with payroll processing, including data entry and calculations.
  • Tracking expenses and preparing expense reports.
  • Performing data entry and record keeping for financial transactions.

HR Generalist Functions:
  • Supporting employee onboarding process, including paperwork and orientation.
  • Answering employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining employee personnel files and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Assisting with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings and screening resumes.
  • Coordinating employee training and development programs.
  • Handling employee relations issues and addressing concerns.
  • Administering employee leave requests and time tracking.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.

Background and Experience:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Familiarity with HR principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry.
  • Understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible.
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • Occasional movement of small articles up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Continually operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Continually required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
