Senior Cloud Architect

Amentum is now hiring a Senior Cloud Architect in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction (FLAIR) office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, utilize, and conform to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with business owners, Analysts, Engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
• Design high quality architectures and drives architecture activities that are aligned to organization requirements set by leadership on behalf of stakeholders and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards.
• Work closely with Developers to ensure proper implementation and liaises between the needs of the organization and the Developers.
• Provide assistance and direction to other cloud teams, ensuring that all technologies work effectively together to improve IT solution cloud performance, and processes change requests. Increase reuse and reduce redundancy in applications and technology designs.
• Support the development and update of enterprise architectural strategies, standards, processes, and tools, as well as the development of strategy, frameworks, best practices, and patterns.
• Ensure compliance with all architecture directions and standards through cross-organization consulting and direct involvement in development efforts.
• Recommend and select tools for strategic implementation, and monitor adherence to corporate standards in application design, development, and testing.
• Discover and define functional requirements and their relationship to technical requirements; and determine the adequacy of documented requirements for architecture definition for the priorities of the department and organization.
• Lead teams to foster successful consultations with technical and non-technical project resources to evaluate project scope and program offering opportunities.
• Conduct analyses and proof-of-concepts for new technologies and solutions.
• Advise and participate in collaboration sessions with peer groups and business owners to estimate the feasibility of further analysis costs, risks, and opportunities for implementations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a PhD.
• C++, TCL, Python certification/license required.
• Minimum of 9 years of working experience. Will accept 5 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Must have an Active TOP SECRET/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting C5ISR DEVCOM programs.
