Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):
  • Serve as the Senior ISSO for tactical weapons platforms, ensuring full cybersecurity compliance.
  • Manage and maintain all system security documentation in eMASS, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Prepare and submit RMF security authorization packages, coordinating with ISSMs and Authorizing Officials (AOs) for ATO approval.
  • Ensure proper inheritance mapping and documentation within eMASS for enclave and system-level security controls.
  • Analyze security artifacts, POA&Ms, and risk assessments to maintain continuous system authorization.
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Conduct security audits, compliance reviews, and training to ensure security awareness across teams.
  • Provide cybersecurity risk advisory support to senior leadership, program managers, and system engineers.
  • Implement security controls for tactical weapons platforms, ensuring compliance with DoD and Army cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Coordinate with PMs, developers, and cyber teams to integrate security into weapons platform design and sustainment.

Required Experience

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 related certifications may be used in place of unrelated degree field.
  • Minimum of 12 plus years of work-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge base preferred in the areas of: real-time security situational awareness, operational network systems, and security monitoring
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and finding
  • Deep expertise in eMASS, including security package development, RMF workflows, and continuous monitoring.
  • Extensive experience with RMF (DoDI 8510.01), NIST 800-53 controls, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with tactical weapons platforms and securing embedded systems, networks, and mission-critical assets.
  • Strong understanding of Defense-in-Depth strategies, cryptographic security, and secure system engineering.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Experience in navigating POA&M management, and security control assessments (SCAs).
  • Incident response experience, including forensic analysis, log reviews, and coordination with Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER).
  • IAT Level III or IAM Level II Certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CAP, CASP+).
  • Active DoD Secret Security clearance; US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with DoD tactical networks and secure communications (e.g., SIPRNet, NIPRNet).
  • Familiarity with red/blue team cybersecurity assessments and cyber threat intelligence in Army environments.
  • Hands-on experience with PKI, cryptographic key management, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Background in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) security or Embedded System Security.
