Job Title: Special Security Officer
Location: Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time, 2-Year Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Special Security Officer to oversee access control, classified materials, and compliance with security policies. The role requires expertise in security operations, personnel security, risk management, and emergency action planning. The ideal candidate will have experience with security management software and government databases and must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical Security:
Oversee facility access control.
Manage construction security plans and compliance for renovations.
Materials Control & Accountability:
Handle creation, movement, and destruction of classified material and digital media.
Personnel Security:
Facilitate indoctrinations and debriefings.
Maintain personnel security files and manage reporting requirements.
Oversee incoming and outgoing external visits.
Security Education & Training:
Conduct annual security training and OPSEC awareness programs.
Provide facility access training.
Risk Management:
Investigate and document security incidents.
Develop and manage corrective actions.
Emergency Action Planning:
Ensure compliance with operational security and emergency action plans.
Required Qualifications:
Security Compliance Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO), or Program Security Officer (PSO).
Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, and ICDs.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills: Experience with security management software (SIMS) and government databases (DISS). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Active SCI access or SCI access within the last 18 months.
Successfully adjudicated counterintelligence scope polygraph within the last 4 years.
Willingness to undergo a government polygraph examination.
Additional Information:
Onsite role (100% in-person).
Interview Process: One-round Zoom interview with the hiring team.
Flexibility required for off-hours emergencies and occasional local/overnight travel (infrequent but possible).
