Overview:
We are seeking a Credentialing Engineer to join our team supporting an enterprise-wide CNSS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, integration, and maintenance of PKI/credentialing systems, spanning from concept and development to implementation and ongoing operations. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to the Government by recommending updates, improvements, and enhancements to the existing infrastructure under an Agile development framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Salary Range: $135,000 - $145,000

Overview:
We are seeking a Credentialing Engineer to join our team supporting an enterprise-wide CNSS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, integration, and maintenance of PKI/credentialing systems, spanning from concept and development to implementation and ongoing operations. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to the Government by recommending updates, improvements, and enhancements to the existing infrastructure under an Agile development framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tier-4 Support: Provide escalated, round-the-clock support for PKI/credentialing infrastructure, ensuring maximum availability and performance.
- System Engineering & Administration: Engineer, administer, and maintain CNSS systems and supporting applications. Evolve production systems and plan future technology migrations.
- Lab Testing & Verification: Operate and maintain lab testing environments at multiple classification levels to emulate production systems. Test and verify release components (updates, patches, change requests) to ensure smooth production deployments.
- PKI/Credentialing Infrastructure & Solutions: Support the build-out of enterprise PKI/credentialing backend infrastructures. Engineer and assist with Non-Person Entity (NPE) solutions for PKI/credentialing. Plan and execute consolidation of existing standalone PKI/credentialing services. Maintain PKI/credentialing operations, including Certificate Authority (CA) service design and implementation.
Salary Range: $135,000 - $145,000
Required Skills
- US. Citizenship is required per contract.
- Applicant must possess and be able to maintain a minimum of DoD Top Secret clearance and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access which requires a counterintelligence scope polygraph.
- Microsoft Server OS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of both current and legacy Microsoft Server operating systems.
- Virtualization Experience: Familiarity with VMware (installation, administration, feature utilization) in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Certificate Authority Systems: Hands-on experience with enterprise-class Certificate Authority (CA) systems, including installation, configuration, and day-to-day operations.
- Server & Network Configuration: Strong background in server hardware and network configuration, focusing on PKI interoperability across a large-scale enterprise network.
- Additional Technical Skills: Experience with Certificate Authority Administration, Certificate Enrollment Web Service & Policy Web Service, and routine administration support of production PKI solutions.
- Experience Requirements: 5+ years technical experience preferably in a large federal IT infrastructure.
- Experience with Agile development environments and practices.
- Exposure to security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS).
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure or hybrid environments.
- Strong communication skills for consulting and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
- High level experience in SSL certificate management concepts, processes, and solution management.
- Direct experience with Venafi Trust Protection Platform and Safenet HSM (Gemalto) platforms is highly desirable.
