We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer – Enterprise Architecture & Modernization to support Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and federal enterprise transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, cybersecurity compliance, data management, and DoDAF/UAF modeling. This role requires a strong background in developing DoD-compliant architecture, integrating cybersecurity frameworks, supporting cloud-based modernization efforts, and aligning system capabilities with mission needs.

The selected candidate will play a key role in defining, modeling, and optimizing enterprise solutions, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and leading efforts in digital transformation, cloud migration, and cybersecurity integration.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain DoDAF, FEAF, UAF, and IC-compliant architecture artifacts to support enterprise and system modernization efforts.
Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to design and document solutions using tools like CAMEO, IBM Rational System Architect, and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
Support AWS Cloud Infrastructure design and modeling, ensuring cybersecurity compliance and integration with DoD Digital Engineering Environment (DEE).
Conduct gap analysis, requirements definition, and risk assessments for complex systems, aligning technical solutions with operational needs.
Lead efforts in enterprise cybersecurity, integrating NIST SP 800-53 Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD security directives into system architectures.
Develop and maintain data management frameworks, ensuring interoperability and compliance with DoD Information Technology Standards Registry (DISR) and National Information Exchange Model (NIEM).
Provide strategic consulting on portfolio management (CPIC, PPBE, JCIDS), acquisition strategy, and compliance with federal IT governance policies.
Create and document Interface Control Documents (ICDs), business process models, and system specifications to support program execution and sustainment.
Support cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders, engineers, and program managers to drive modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Conduct technical analysis and impact assessments for transitioning legacy systems to cloud-based architectures and microservices frameworks.
Prepare and deliver technical briefings, white papers, and decision support materials for senior leadership and federal stakeholders.
Participate in and support Enterprise Architecture Review Boards (EARB) and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs).
Required Qualifications
20+ years of Systems Engineering experience, with a strong focus on enterprise architecture, data management, cybersecurity, and system modernization.
Expertise in DoDAF/UAF/FEAF frameworks, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and enterprise IT transformation.
Strong background in AWS Cloud Architecture, DoD Digital Engineering Environment (DEE), and cybersecurity compliance (NIST 800-53, RMF).
Experience in PPBE, JCIDS, CPIC, and federal acquisition processes.
Proficiency with tools such as CAMEO, IBM Rational System Architect, Sparx Enterprise Architect, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Deep understanding of DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and federal IT standards, policies, and compliance frameworks.
Experience developing DoDAF artifacts (CV, OV, SV, SvcV, StdV, DIV, TV) and conducting capability mapping and gap analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to senior leadership.
Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain).
