Open Source Collector & Linguist

As an Open Source Collector, you use your specialized language and regional experience and your attention to detail to develop reports and products to give your client the actionable information and context they need. If you have strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, we have an opportunity to use those skills.
As an Open Source Collector on our team, you'll help your client understand their operational landscape and mission environment. Using your understanding of various collection platforms, you'll explore new data sources, develop effective collection strategies, and combine information from disparate open sources. You'll validate information and apply client tradecraft as you build assessments. As the authority on your region, your client will look to you for time-critical support, often under pressure .
This is a chance to grow your expertise , develop new skills in the open source information environment and collection automation, and share your methodologies with other analysts. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 3+ years of experience conducting open source collection and analysis or geolocating images, such as handheld photography, or videos
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite tools
- 2+ years of experience with web browsing tools and advanced searching techniques
- Experience directly engaging with partners and customers
- Experience conducting safe searches, such as operations security (OPSEC)
- Ability to show a score of 2 on the Defense Language Proficiency Test, ILR, or ALTA in the Russian language
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience balancing multiple priorities with differing due dates
- Experience with coding or building web scraping, crawlers, and media veracity tools
- Knowledge of geospatial technologies
- Knowledge of DoD and IC databases and services
- Knowledge of Common Open Source databases and services
- Knowledge of social media
- Knowledge of production tracking software
- Ability to demonstrate natural curiosity
