Cloud Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Oversee our cloud infrastructure and lead a cross-functional team of cloud engineers, architects, systems administrators, database administrators, and sof tware engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery. Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, and mentor or supervise employees in both firm and technical competencies. Design and implement cloud solutions, and develop and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions. Oversee the management and optimization of cloud resources, ensuring high availability and performance. Ensure cloud solutions comply with security standards and data protection regulations. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Identify and resolve cloud- related issues, providing technical support as needed. Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, system, network, and cloud administration
  • Experience leading cloud migration projects, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to business operations, and developing and implementing cloud migration strategies, aligning with organizational goals and industry best practices
  • Experience directing cross-functional teams in the migration of applications and data to various cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience providing technical guidance and best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance across multiple cloud platforms
  • Experience using cloud migration tools and methodologies to optimize efficiency and reduce migration time, and ensuring compliance with security standards and data protection regulations throughout the migration process
  • Experience c ond ucting assessments of existing IT infrastructure to determine cloud readiness and identify potential challenges and providing post-migration support and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation and address any issues
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, and working independently and as part of a team
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or CS field
  • Security+ Certification


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and implementing single or multi-cloud solutions, leveraging the strengths of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud to optimize performance and cost-efficiency
  • Experience automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, reducing manual intervention and increasing deployment speed
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI / CD pipelines across single or multiple cloud platforms, ensuring consistent and reliable sof tware delivery
  • Experience c ond ucting performance tuning and optimization of cloud resources, resulting in improvement of application response times
  • Experience integrating cloud-native services such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions, and Oracle Cloud Functions, to enhance application scalability and flexibility
  • Experience configuring and administering AppStream
  • Experience with military service or working with government agencies in the DoD
  • Experience with Amazon AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with Lambda functions
  • Experience configuring and patching RedHat and Windows OS and other components

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
