Job Description
BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to lead the Production and Sustainment product teams in support of the Automatic Fuels Systems Installations (AFSI) and Energy Automation Operational Technology Sustainment (EAOTS) Programs as well as the Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) Electronic Security System (ESS) Program. This position is in scenic and historic Charleston, SC. Relocation bonus will be considered.

The selected candidate will be expected to: perform the management of schedule, cost, scope, risk, and quality for multiple, complex C5ISR capabilities, and the delivery of infrastructure design, installation, production, and sustainment projects; coordinate project management efforts and be the primary point of contact with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), suppliers/subcontractors, and project team; work under the consultative direction of the Program Director to meet long-range goals and objectives of the program through superb administrative and operational leadership.

Primary Responsibilities :
  • Manages multiple program budgets for a portfolio of programs, monitors the technical performance of the workforce, develops strong customer relationships through frequent interactions and whose actions represent the objectives of the entire organization.
  • Serves as an advisor to senior external personnel on significant technical and programmatic matters and directly reports to the organization's Program director.
  • Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovativeness to staff and deploy a worldwide workforce required to assure readiness of fuel and monitoring systems in support of a 24X7 operation.
  • Participates in weekly program business rhythms including collecting and reporting status and metrics, developing program management presentations, initializing baseline change requests, developing estimate to completes, and reporting variances.
  • Coordinates with other external and internal business functions to accomplish program tasks. Interfaces and acts as a liaison with customers, contractors, and suppliers. Review and recommends changes and directs the implementation of solutions.
  • Provides technical and operational support and services to ensure quality assurance standards are met in providing support to various project tasks. Develops reports on the progress and status of assigned projects. Initiates corrective action to support task problems and failures.
  • Participate in business development activities as required. Expected to grow strong relationships with current and future customers in Government and Industry.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Business Administration degree in a technical field or accounting/finance,, Mathematics or Management Information Systems, from an accredited college or university.
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Eight years of experience with practical use of program management tools and techniques including directing project personnel, scheduling, proposal and bid preparation, risk management; and working with program management functions such as contracts, procurement, and finance who support program activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills often to senior Government civilians, interpersonal relationships, and managerial techniques.
  • Experience with people management, directing work through subordinate supervisors
  • Secret level clearance and ability to maintain
  • Ability to travel 25% or greater

  • Experience with Firm Fixed Contracts
  • Business Development experience and writing proposals
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships with local government and Industry partners
  • Knowledge of DLA contracts and electronic fuel system monitoring
  • Master of Business Administration from an accredited university


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106654 - $181311

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
