Electronics Technician (Telecommunication)
K2 Group is in search of an Electronics Technician will work in support of the FBI's Technical Response Unit/Critical Incident Response Group (TRU)/CIRG. The Electronics Technician will deploy, operate, and maintain strategic and tactical satellite terminal equipment; Internet Protocol (IP) based networks, Telephone networks, and Video Teleconferencing systems in support of FBI mission requirements.
Duties:
Develop, revise, and/or review specifications for new or upgraded telecommunications systems or computer networks, to include voice, data, and video subsystem components. Maintaining the following equipment: Strategic and Tactical satellite systems Internet Protocol (IP) Network Telephone systems Video teleconferencing systems Develop, maintain, integrate, and deploy; including but not limited to the following: Motorola handheld, mobile and consolette radios Routers and Switches iDirect Modems Ku, Ka, and X Band Satellite Radio equipment, Starlink/Similar MEO/LEO terminals AN/PRC-117 and AN/PRC-150 Tactical Satellite Radios AN/PRC-148 handheld radios KG-175 and KG-250 series encryption units Assist in coordination communication mission requirements with various state, local, and federal agencies.
Requirements:
Five (5) years documented experience telecommunications, communication systems technician, including but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, computer science systems. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state-of-the-art voice, data, video, and satellite based telecommunications systems Ability to deploy, configure, operate, and maintain complex strategic and tactical satellite based telecommunications systems. Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrate knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology Have a working knowledge and demonstrated experience with the operational procedures used for a Tactical Operation Center (TOC) or equivalent operational center Operational knowledge of cryptographic encryption devices Be able to carry communications equipment up to 70 lbs Be able to climb on or under small or large vehicles Be available to serve on a duty recall roster. While on recall status, the individual shall remain mission ready to respond within one (1) hour of notification for no notice deployments.
