Personnel Security Assistant

This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust to be considered, US Citizenship is required per our government client

The Personnel Security Assistant provides administrative and operational support for WAPA and the Office of Security and Emergency Management (OSEM). They assist in processing security clearances, maintaining records, and coordinating security-related activities. Provide technical expertise and support in the Personnel Security program and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated starting salary range for Personnel Security Support Assistant: $23 to $25 per hour

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Personnel Security Assistant Responsibilities Include:
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Personnel Security Program for WAPA and OSEM.
  • Provides, at a minimum technical expertise and support, to WAPA and OSEM in the Personnel Security program and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements.
  • Provides proficient working knowledge of Personnel Security procedures and policies. Provides subject matter expert level support services on a wide array of personnel security program issues including badging, Federal/Contractor Background Investigations, and credentialing duties in accordance with Federal laws and policy related to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12.
  • Reviews, evaluates, makes recommendations for improvement, maintains, and handles personnel background checks filing system. This requires handling of personally identifiable information (PII) on a daily basis.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a customer service role, including quality control and document management.

Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to securely handle and protect personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse individuals in various situations.

Other Requirements:
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications for Cherokee Federal.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance via the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)/WAPA.
  • US Citizenship is required
