Remote Data Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Remote Data Engineer with expertise in Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join a large strategic Supply Chain organization in a fully remote role. The ideal Remote Data Engineer must work EST hours and will support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and systems, ensuring data quality and integrity across all processes.

Responsibilities of the Remote Data Engineer include:

• Design, build, and sustain scalable data pipelines and systems to facilitate automation and data-driven decision-making
• Establish and oversee MLOps practices to enhance the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models
• Work closely with data scientists and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of data workflows
• Optimize and manage cloud infrastructure using GCP services, including Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Build
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and security across all pipelines and systems
• Create and update detailed documentation for data systems and processes

Qualifications for the Remote Data Engineer include:

• 8+ years' experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in the logistics industry
• Expertise in managing services and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
• Strong proficiency in creating and managing DAGs in Apache Airflow
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Python and SQL programming language experience required
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation for the Remote Data Engineer:

• Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 annually
