About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Systems Engineer will assist with compliance execution, reporting, and vulnerability-remediation activities.

Aquila is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Systems Engineer will assist with compliance execution, reporting, and vulnerability-remediation activities.
There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must have anActive Clearance (Green Cards / Visas DO NOT qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Must be within 100 miles from Lexington, Massachusetts.
Must Have:
- Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
Clearance:
- Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
Networks Experience:
- 10 years Network skills (package captures, NIC latency tuning, route tables and tracing, etc.)
Programming Experience:
- 5 years Scripting Languages: Bash/shell, Python and Perl
Soft Skills:
- 10 years Applying skills in innovative, cutting edge applications
- 10 years Independent Contribution and Collaboration
- Experience with presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Software Experience
- 7 years Package development and deployment (rpm, yum, dnf, apt)
Software Tools Experience:
- 7 years Ansible Automation Platform to Support Linux systems
Systems Experience:
- 10 years Configure storage for Linux systems (LVM, file systems, RAID, storage encryption, SAN, NAS and NFS)
- 10 years Linux Troubleshooting (boot process, kickstart building, monitoring of system resources, etc)
- 5 years Red Hat Satellite to support Linux systems
- 10 years RHEL & Ubuntu workstation and server
Required Minimum
- Bachelors of Computer Science or relevant technical field of study
- Experience providing support for RHEL & Ubuntu workstation and server
- Experience utilizing Ansible Automation Platform to support Linux systems
- Experience utilizing Satellite and Landscape to support Linux systems
- Experience with bash/shell, Python or Perl scripting
- Understanding of Linux troubleshooting to include the boot process, Kickstart building, systemd, monitoring of system resources, kernel tuning, system performance troubleshooting, system calls and tracing
- Experience configuring storage for Linux systems (LVM, file systems, RAID, storage encryption, SAN, NAS and NFS)
- Package development and deployment (rpm, yum, dnf, apt)
- Strong overall network skills (package captures, NIC latency tuning, route tables and tracing, subnetting, firewall/iptable, TCP/UDP/IP protocols)
- Ability to work independently toward delivery of goals as well as collaborate in team efforts
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting DevSecOps environments (with Github, Jfrog, Jenkins, GitLab, Fortify, Docker, Kubernetes, or SonarQube)
- Experience supporting software deployment on Linux
- Experience supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
