About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Engineer to support and maintain enterprise applications running on Oracle databases and middleware technologies. This role involves troubleshooting application issues, optimizing database performance, managing integrations, and ensuring system reliability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle Database Administration (DBA), Oracle Application Server, and SQL/PLSQL development, along with experience in supporting mission-critical applications.

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Engineer to support and maintain enterprise applications running on Oracle databases and middleware technologies. This role involves troubleshooting application issues, optimizing database performance, managing integrations, and ensuring system reliability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle Database Administration (DBA), Oracle Application Server, and SQL/PLSQL development, along with experience in supporting mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for applications running on Oracle Databases (Oracle 12c, 19c, or later).
- Troubleshoot application performance issues, query optimization, and database connectivity problems.
- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business users to ensure seamless application functionality.
- Implement patches, updates, and security fixes for Oracle databases and middleware components.
- Monitor database and application performance, identifying bottlenecks and improving efficiency.
- Tune SQL queries, indexes, and PL/SQL stored procedures to enhance application responsiveness.
- Utilize Oracle AWR, ADDM, and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for proactive monitoring and optimization.
- Support and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Fusion Middleware, or Oracle Application Server for hosting enterprise applications.
- Manage database and application integrations using APIs, ETL tools (Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica), and messaging queues.
- Ensure smooth data exchange between Oracle-based applications and external systems.
- Enforce data security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and auditing.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations (SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) and corporate security policies.
- Perform database backups, disaster recovery testing, and high-availability configurations (Data Guard, RAC, etc.).
- Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with development teams, IT operations, and business analysts to enhance Oracle-based applications.
- Provide user training and support for database and application-related issues.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an EOD Public Trust.
- Experience in Oracle Database Administration and application support.
- Expertise in Oracle RDBMS (12c, 19c, or later), SQL, PL/SQL, and database tuning.
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, or Oracle Fusion Middleware.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data migration, and integration with third-party applications.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Pump, Flashback, etc.).
- Familiarity with Oracle security best practices, user roles, and access management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing database and application issues.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments for database administration tasks.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Database Administrator.
- Oracle Certified Specialist (OCS) - WebLogic Server or Middleware.
- ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred for service management best practices, must obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS, or Azure DB for Oracle).
- Scripting skills in Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation.
