Synertex is seeking a Security Education Training & Awareness Officer to support our Department of Defense customer based in Springfield, VA. The position requires you to be onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Security Education Training Awareness Officer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the development, facilitation, and implementation of a multi-disciplinary security training and awareness curriculum for SCI programs.
  • The ideal Security Education Training Awareness Officer requires excellent writing and speaking skills, creativity, sound judgement, and initiative.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience in creating a security training program for a large program office.
  • Experience in creating recurring schedules.
  • Experience conducting briefs to large audiences.
  • Experience tracking training certificates and updating training records.
  • Working knowledge of DODM 5200.01 Vol.1-3.
  • Working knowledge of ICD 700 and 703.
  • Working knowledge of E.O. 13526.
  • Familiarity with the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM.
  • At least 3 years experience building briefs using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Training Curriculums.
  • The position requires to be onsite due to the classified nature/location of the program. The position will require to be on location at the Pentagon twice (2x) per week.


DESIRED QUALIFIATIONS:
  • Ability to balance policy requirements with program mission and timelines.
  • Ability to develop Annual Program Security and SCI Refresher Training.
  • Must be aware of all DoD and IC Training requirements and seamlessly implement them in a Training curriculum.
  • Ability to engender rapport with the military, civilians, and other contractors at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
  • Familiarity with the DODM 5205.07, Vol. 1-4.
  • Familiarity with ICS 703-01.


EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree or higher: > 2 years experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher: > 3 years experience; OR
  • Associate's degree: > 6 years experience; OR
  • High School/GED: > 8 years experience


CERTIFCATIONS:
  • Certified Authorization Professional (CAP); or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+); or CompTIA Security+ ce; or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
