Chesapeake Consultants is seeking a passionate and creative Atlassian Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Atlassian SME, you will play a critical role in designing, administering, and implementing solutions for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, enabling our customers to optimize and scale their operations effectively. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on innovative projects and make a tangible impact on business transformations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and administer multiple Jira Software (Agile Scrum) and Jira Service Desk/Service Management projects
• Design and implement advanced Confluence spaces, utilizing sophisticated functionality and design techniques to deliver highly usable solutions
• Design and manage multiple Jira Assets schemas, supporting a wide range of use cases and extending Assets functionality beyond its core asset management capabilities
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand their business processes and needs, help them leverage the full potential of Atlassian tools, and develop solutions that provide significant value
• Conduct informal, unstructured training sessions with end-users to help them become more self-sufficient in managing their own projects and spaces
• Create technical reference documentation in Confluence for use by other Jira project administrators
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience managing and supporting multiple Jira projects, Confluence spaces, and Assets schemas simultaneously for different teams
• Strong background in supporting Agile Scrum teams
• Advanced knowledge of JQL and IQL (including Scriptrunner)
• Proficient in advanced Confluence page design
• Experience with Jira automations (both legacy and project-based), including using smart values
• Expertise in analyzing and translating structured datasets into Jira Assets schema designs
• Atlassian certification is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Jira & Assets API is a plus
• Certified Scrum Master certification is a plus
• Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders
• Decisive and confident, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a flexible, fast-paced, and fluid environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and proactive in managing tasks and responsibilities
• A working knowledge of Facilities processes is helpful but not required
