THE WORK

This is a Part-Time position in support of F-35 pilot training using the F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS). The successful candidate will function as a Part-Time F-35 Contract Instructor Pilot (CIP) on site at the MCAS Yuma, AZ Pilot Training Center.
Remote work is not available.

CIPs provide instruction using the Full Mission Simulators (FMS) and F-35 system and tactical lectures in the classroom. The successful candidate will be required to:

1. Conduct advanced-level pilot training and instruction via the Instructor Operating Station (IOS) to include professional briefs, the creation of complex tactical scenarios, multi-role mission specific training, advanced aircrew qualification upgrades, and analytical debriefs in accordance with the directed Marine Aircraft Group 13 syllabus and recurring non-syllabus related mission tasking.
2. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) academic briefings on F-35 aircraft systems and weapons on a regular and recurring schedule.
3. Provide Air Battle Control and Intercept Control to USMC Fighter Weapons School performance standards.
4. Maintain expert-level knowledge of current Adversary Air and Surface-to-Air (SAM) tactics and provide realistic control to replicate current world-wide threat behavior.
5. Construct and endorse grade sheets utilizing MSHARP in accordance with syllabus directed missions.
6. Fly as fully qualified F-35 instructor pilots during simulator missions, when required.
7. Provide field-level feedback and operational-level expertise to the Orlando-based FMS development team to improve future FMS updates.
8. Work closely with members of F-35 FMS teams at other dedicated training sites to improve F-35 instruction and continuation training objectives.
9. Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed.
10. Maintain a Secret-level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access.
11. Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F-35 program and customer procedures.
12. Accomplish assigned additional duties, as required.

Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must have active secret clearance with investigation or CV within 5 years and be able to qualify for access to Special Access Required (SAR) programs.
• In-depth knowledge as a pilot of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems and achieved two ship lead military certification.
• Fully Qualified F-35 A, B or C pilot experience.
• Graduate of USN or USMC or USAF aviation weapons school.
• 1000 flight hours of tactical aircraft experience.
• Prior experience in delivering military pilot academics and simulator training and be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
• Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills:
• Current or demonstrated experience as a USAF/USN/USMC Instructor Pilot with multi-role fighter experience with two and four ship military qualifications.
• Fifth generation Full Mission Simulator (FMS) experience as an operator and/or instructor.
• Experience as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller or Forward Air Controller (Airborne).
• Experience either performing or operating under Air Intercept Control.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
