Kavaliro is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure operations. This role requires a strong background in systems administration, with a focus on security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and associated hardware and software, with a focus on LAN/WAN support.
- Ensure system security and integrity by implementing and monitoring security protocols, including CAC authentication.
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
- Assist in the design and implementation of IT projects and solutions.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support operational needs.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide user support and training as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology.
- Travel as required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration.
- Security+ certification is required.
- TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Experience with Nutanix is a strong benefit.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), with experience in LAN/WAN support.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud services.
- Experience with CAC authentication and related security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a military or defense environment.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, CCNA) are a plus.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Nutanix (hyperconverged platform)
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Zero Trust Application
Working Conditions:
- Extensive travel will be required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region.
- May require occasional after-hours or weekend work
