Senior Systems Administrator III

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

Deploys, sustains, and troubleshoots server operating systems and related infrastructure. Manages day-to-day system integrity, security, and availability. Performs backups, monitoring, and capacity analysis while maintaining security posture. Creates documentation for operational upkeep and performs maintenance upgrades. Assists in evaluating infrastructure hardware/software. Level III handles complex tasks independently and may supervise others.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Systems Administrator III:
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.

Senior Systems Administrator III Responsibilities Include:
  • Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems and related infrastructure software/hardware.
  • Ensure integrity, security, and availability of infrastructure platforms.
  • Perform regular system backups and monitor system performance.
  • Conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning for infrastructure systems.
  • Maintain and enhance the security posture of infrastructure systems.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles for infrastructure upkeep.
  • Perform necessary infrastructure platform upgrades to maintain security and operational effectiveness.
  • Support architecture and engineering teams in evaluating, recommending, and testing infrastructure hardware/software products.
  • Handle more complex tasks independently and provide guidance to others when required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Senior Systems Administrator III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency.
  • Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Commercial Certificates for DoD 8570.01-M certificate requirement, Professional level certification for supported technology.
  • Proficient in managing server operating systems and infrastructure platforms.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving system issues related to infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in maintaining and enhancing infrastructure security.
  • Expertise in creating clear and comprehensive procedural and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to assess system capacity and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Skilled in assisting with the evaluation and testing of infrastructure hardware/software.
  • Capable of handling complex issues with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using hands/fingers for handling, typing, and operating equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally walk or stand.
  • Strong ability to see up close, at a distance, and along the periphery with depth perception and focus adjustment.
  • Capable of hearing and responding to spoken communication.
  • Ability to effectively talk and interact with others in various settings.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse office environment with varying personalities and functional roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Capable of working with a wide variety of people with different expertise and abilities.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
