Job Description: TEKsystems is seeking a Systems Administrator (Windows) to provide exceptional customer support and technical assistance for a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Program at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of IT systems.

Responsibilities:
• Answer questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of assigned products on Windows 10 computers.
• Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues encountered by users.
• Provide hardware support for Intel x86 based PCs, overhead projectors, soft boards, telecommunications, laser and inkjet printers, scanners, and Common Access Cards (CAC).
• Offer software support for Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and various specialty engineering and scientific development tools.
• Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related issues and Information Assurance Vulnerabilities (IAVs).
• Coordinate with the Corporate IT Help Desk to maintain the established Incident Tickets and Change Request process using Remedy.
• Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of the organizational mailbox to ensure timely support for user requests.
• Maintain and develop IT-related procedures required to support the organization.
• Work with the organization's Information Assurance Officer (IAO) to achieve system accreditation.
• Provide recommendations for future IT needs of the organization.
• Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly progress and status reports.

Requirements:
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and assist others in resolving IT-related issues.
• Knowledge in the installation, maintenance, and administration of computer systems in a LAN/WAN environment.
• Strong understanding of current Microsoft-supported Windows operating systems.
• Understanding of Linux operating systems is desirable but not required.
• High level of competency in both written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
• DoD Directive 8570.1 Information Assurance Technical Level II certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security).
• Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) networking and security accreditation processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory.
• Working knowledge of current Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Risk Management Framework.

Top Skills:
• IAT Level II Certification and Interim or Active Secret Clearance.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in system administration of Windows-based workstations, experience with drivers, Dell machines/Windows 10 workstations.
• Understanding of ACAS scans and experience with STIGs.

Nice to Haves:
• Knowledge of corporate services including DNS, SMTP, RHEV, Splunk, Apache.
• Demonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
• Hardware experience with Dell systems.
• Experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities.
• ServiceNow ITSM Ticket Management experience.

• Performed across multiple sites in Dahlgren, VA.

• Contract includes approximately 200 people divided into different teams (Linux, Windows, IT Support, Networking, Applications, Security, etc.).
