Synertex LLC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to provide support to our government customer at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Lackland, TX, by helping develop and implement a secure, scalable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) web portal.

This role requires adherence to strict compliance guidelines, including the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering's Application Programming Interface (API) Technical Guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and deploy a secure and scalable SaaS web portal for the presentation and dissemination of EMS data and analytical products.
• Ensure the web portal can handle at least 1,000 concurrent users without compromising performance or security.
• Implement features for account creation and manage user access levels through privilege management.
• Ensure proper user authentication using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authentication mechanisms.
• Develop features for document submission, validation, publication, and secure storage within the portal.
• Enable users to upload and retrieve documents efficiently and securely.
• Build and integrate an Application Programming Interface (API) that adheres to the technical guidance provided by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.
• Ensure the API meets industry standards and supports future integrations.
• Implement robust security measures for user data and system access.
• Ensure the system is scalable and can grow as the user base increases.
• Provide regular updates on the status of development, addressing any roadblocks or challenges.
• Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing SaaS web applications, including UI design, account management, and document handling.
• Strong understanding of secure login/authentication mechanisms, particularly Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
• Experience in API development, integration, and compliance with technical guidelines (preferably with defense or government projects).
• Familiarity with working in a high-availability environment supporting concurrent users.

Skills:

• Proficient in front-end and back-end web development technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS, APIs, and server-side languages).
• Strong understanding of security best practices in SaaS applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with testing and documentation practices in a development environment.
