Position Description:
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategic digital marketing campaigns to promote AFWERX initiatives, programs, and Director priorities. This role requires expertise in digital marketing techniques, including social media management, content marketing, email marketing, google workspace, and search engine optimization (SEO). The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with AFWERX personnel and the Strategic Communications team to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with organizational objectives.
Duties:
• Marketing Strategy Development: Plan and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies to drive awareness and engagement for AFWERX initiatives.
• Content Distribution: Manage and distribute engaging content across digital platforms, including social media, email, and AFWERX websites.
• Social Media Management: Develop and oversee social media campaigns across multiple platforms to enhance AFWERX's digital presence.
• SEO & Web Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to improve online visibility and user engagement.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics (website traffic, engagement, conversion rates) to optimize campaign performance.
• Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including public affairs, to ensure brand consistency and message alignment across all digital channels.
• Market Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends, recommending innovative strategies to enhance audience reach.
• Email Campaigns: Create and execute email marketing campaigns to engage and nurture target audiences.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all digital marketing content adheres to AFWERX branding guidelines and communication standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in meetings and discussions to gather critical information that informs marketing strategies.
• Reporting & Presentations: Provide regular reports on key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) and campaign effectiveness.
• Travel: Occasional travel required to support AFWERX initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: Degree or certification in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of digital marketing experience, preferably in a military or government setting.
• Marketing Expertise: Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media, content marketing, and SEO.
• Campaign Execution: Ability to strategize, execute, and analyze social media and digital marketing campaigns.
• Data Analytics: Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite) to track campaign performance and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Email Marketing: Experience creating and managing targeted email campaigns to engage key audiences.
• Basic Web Development Knowledge: Familiarity with web design principles and UX best practices to collaborate effectively with web development teams.
• Trend Adaptation: Ability to stay current with industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
