Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Principal / Sr. Principal Engineer Software to join the Systems Engineering Integration & Test team (SEIT) within the Launch Vehicles business unit located at the Chandler, AZ facility.
As a member of the Launch Systems SEIT Software Development Team (LANTERN) you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ground floor of Northrop Grumman's Digital Thread Transformation Initiatives. The Team Member will be a motivated Full Stack Developer who is experienced and will be responsible for the development of Web Applications that support Digital Transformation, Model-Based Systems Engineering Tools, and Launch System business requirements.
The team is looking for you to join our organization as a Principal Full Stack Developer in support of Digital Thread Tool development. As a member of the team, you will:
• Work in a highly collaborative environment
• Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to determine application features, processes, and tool usage
• Support integration and deployment of applications
• Support Epic, Story, and Task creation, refinement, implementation, and testing
• Create and maintain DevOps pipelines
• Contribute to Peer Reviews and/or pair programming
• Contribute to the future of LANTERN by collaborating on Agile Process Improvement, DevOps Pipeline Improvement, Web-App Architecture, and Technology Stack
The team member will utilize some of following tools and technologies to support all phases of the software development lifecycle:
• React and JavaScript
• Node.js
• Python
• HTML and CSS
• PostgreSQL
• Visual Studio Code
• Git
• Agile and DevOps
• Feature Flag deployment
• Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence)
• Jenkins and SonarQube
• Windows and/or Linux
• Kubernetes (OpenShift/Rancher)
This position may be offered at the Principal Engineer Software Level 3 or Sr. Principal Engineer Software Level 4.
Basic Qualifications:
If offered at the Principal Engineer Software Level 3 requires:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Work onsite at the Chandler, AZ facility.
If offered at the Sr. Principal Engineer Software Level 4 requires:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Work onsite at the Chandler, AZ facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five (5) years of Full Stack Development experience.
• Three (3) years of experience with React development.
• Experience as a developer on an Agile Team.
• Experience as a developer utilizing React, Node.js and JavaScript.
• Experience working in a DevOps environment.
• Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Jenkins pipeline development/maintenance.
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Django
• Experience with JavaScript
• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Experience with NodeJS, AJAX, GraphQL, Apollo and Celery.
• Experience with relational database development.
• Experience developing and maintaining microservices.

Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900
Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
