The Opportunity:
NexTech Solutions, LLC (NTS) is seeking an experienced Journeyman Network/Systems Administrator to join our team in support of the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (COMUSNAVCENT)/U.S. 5th Fleet, based in Manama, Bahrain. The candidate will play a key role in supporting the Maven Smart System (MSS), which is a CENTCOM-endorsed AI-enabled platform designed to enhance situational awareness and collaboration across maritime operations. This role includes providing technical services for network and system administration, supporting operational and technical documentation, troubleshooting, and ensuring the MSS is fully functional to support mission-critical activities.
MSS integrates an enterprise data layer using AI to enable faster decision-making and improved situational awareness through its common operating picture (COP). It is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Naval Command's MOC to enhance its command and control (C2) capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical system administration support, including maintenance, configuration management, and baseline enforcement.
• Collaborate with the customer to help develop and sustain standard operating procedures, application protocols, and interface guidelines for the Maven Smart System.
• Support global connectivity and ensure operational effectiveness across all levels of command.
• Maintain Information Assurance (IA) readiness by promptly applying patches and addressing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) to MOC systems.
• Ensure compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for all systems.
• Maintain a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) for addressing STIG, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scan results, and IAVA deficiencies. Support the creation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages in collaboration with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
• Provide guidance and training to military personnel responsible for Tier I/II system administration, focusing on patch management and compliance with IAVA protocols.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. Passport.
• U.S. Citizenship and DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Security+ CE or equivalent certification at the DOD 8570.1-M IAT II level.
Required Experience:
• 5-7 years of relevant mid-career experience.
